Baseline assessment for a project focused on improving access to inclusive education and enhancing Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) infrastructure in Mandera East and North. Project Goals & Objectives: To establish baseline data on key indicators related to education access, quality, and WASH infrastructure before project implementation. This data will serve as a benchmark for measuring project progress and impact.
Scope of Work:
- Developed data collection tools and methodologies appropriate for the local context.
- Conducted household surveys to gather quantitative data on education and WASH indicators.
- Facilitated focus group discussions with community members, students, and teachers to gather qualitative insights.
- Analyzed collected data to establish a comprehensive baseline report.

Outcomes & Impact: The baseline report provided critical data points such as: “Prior to the project, only 35% of households had access to clean water within a radius of 20 kilometer radius. School enrolment rates in the target areas were found to be 45%, with significant disparities between genders.
