INTEGRATION OF GENDER, AGRICULTURE AND NUTRITION (2022-2024)

A multi-country project spanning Somalia, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Tanzania, focused on integrating gender considerations into agriculture and nutrition initiatives to empower both women and men within agricultural communities.

Project Goals & Objectives: To foster dignified living standards through an integrated approach that bolsters climate-smart irrigated agriculture, ensures gender-sensitive access to sustainable water resources, and expands opportunities for food production, marketing, and income generation.

Scope of Work:

  • Conducted precision diagnostic assessments using gender analysis frameworks (e.g., Moser Framework, Harvard Analytical Framework).
  • Employed Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) and the Gender Action Learning System (GALS).
  • Conducted meticulous gender audits.
  • Developed gender-sensitive indicators.
  • Integrated gender considerations into all phases of the project cycle.
  • Provided tailored capacity building on gender integration.
  • Developed sustainable technical assistance models.
  • Established data-driven M&E systems.
  • Utilized focus group discussions, key informant interviews, and community mapping to gather qualitative data.
